Textiles often form the silent foundation of your interior. They capture light, dampen sound, and bring warmth, both literally and figuratively. They are therefore important elements in your home. But when textile items are handwoven, they take on an even deeper meaning. It's not just about color or pattern, but about the rhythm of the loom, the time and attention the weaver devotes to them.
Within the Draumr community, weavers prioritize craftsmanship. They don't create decorative items, but textiles that evolve with your interior.
Weaving as a Slow Craft
Handweaving is a process that cannot be accelerated. The entire process of creating a cushion or wall hanging begins long before a single thread is even in the loom. Veronica Pock, for example, uses nature as inspiration. She collects stones, twigs, leaves, and other natural materials. She places these in a container and observes which colors and shapes belong together. Once she has done this, she translates them into colors and shapes on paper. Once satisfied, she searches for the right colors that best represent her idea. Then she has to translate her idea into a workable pattern for the loom. When all that is finished, the actual weaving begins. Thread by thread, the structure Veronica envisioned is created. Through the repetition of the loom, Veronica's concentration, and her experience, each movement brings the final result a little closer.
Both Bianka Stege and Veronica work with natural materials like wool, cotton, and linen. This results in warm cushions in beautiful colors. They work with traditional weaving techniques on beautiful looms, producing small editions and often unique pieces. Like the Treshnish-designed cushion made exclusively for Draumr. The result is textiles you not only see, but also feel.
Woven textiles that bring tranquility
Interiors have become increasingly sleek and digital in recent years. Handwoven textiles are a perfect addition to your interior. They not only bring warmth but also restore balance. A throw on the sofa, a tapestry on the wall, or soft cushions on the couch. These woven items soften the clean lines and add depth.

Handwoven items like cushions, tapestries, and throws are distinguished by subtle irregularities that add character and colors that are layered and never flat. Moreover, the texture becomes more beautiful with use. These are pieces that don't scream for attention, but that you discover again and again.
From thread to space: textiles as mood enhancers
While furniture often dictates the shape of your interior, textiles set the tone. The weavers in the Draumr community design their work with the interior in mind, not as individual objects. They design the items as part of a whole. They understand that handwoven textiles connect the various materials in your home. Moreover, these handwoven items provide warmth without weighing down your furniture or walls. Handwoven textiles also adapt beautifully; from modern to timeless, you can integrate these woven items into your interior. Precisely because they are natural materials and imperfect, they feel human.

Tapestries: Textiles as Wall Art
A tapestry is perhaps the purest form of woven expression. In the Draumr community, Bianka from Studio Stege is the main contributor to the collection. Tapestries are textiles that don't necessarily have to be functional, but they do enhance your interior. They add texture to large areas, breaking them up. It's like a beautiful painting, but it also improves the acoustics of the room. These tapestries personalize a space without being overpowering through color. They tell the story of the maker and the classic craft.
Sustainable Through Care
Handwoven textiles are sustainable by definition. Not because they carry a label, but because they are made to last. This is achieved through respecting materials, slowing down processes, and minimising waste. So, by choosing handmade textiles for your interior, you're choosing timeless home furnishings instead of trend-sensitive items. This is a better fit for an interior that evolves with you.

At Draumr, we believe an interior is only truly complete when it also has a soft touch. When there's room for texture, imperfection, and craftsmanship. Handwoven textiles bring that magic, every single day.
