about Draumr

Founded in 2021 by Richard Fenton and Martijn Voorhout, Draumr was created to help people build interiors with soul — spaces that are both functional and deeply personal.

We connect interior dreamers with a growing network of Dutch furniture makers, small manufacturers, and independent designers. These are professionals who care as much about how something is made as how it looks. Whether it’s a single custom piece or a full interior concept, Draumr offers a personal, transparent and craft-led approach.

made in the netherlands

Everything we do is made or developed in the Netherlands, using honest materials and a no-waste mindset. We don’t follow trends. We focus on long-term value: timeless design that lasts generations.

It's a process

Draumr is more than a platform — it’s a process. We inspire with stories and ideas. We connect people to the right makers. And if needed, we offer expert design support to help turn vision into reality.

Why the name?

The name means “Dream” in old Norse. It was chosen at the start, when the company had a strong Scandinavian flavour with two of the three founders being Scandinavian. The name encapsulated our aspiration of making living and working lives across Europe better.  Although the Norwegian and Swede have left, the dream remains and “Draumr” matches what we’re doing. To quote Nelson Mandela: “A winner is a dreamer who never gives up.”

  • Richard Fenton

    Founder - Sales

Richard began his career in Sheffield, UK, a city rooted in arts and crafts heritage, sparking a lasting appreciation for handmade objects and those who create them. He pursued a pragmatic path in the automotive and high-tech industries, traveling widely and building a rich personal and professional life.

By 2015, he felt the need for change and returned to his creative roots, combining his love of craft with business experience. For him, handmade work is about deep process—an intimate understanding of materials, construction, and finish, where beauty emerges through doing. He’s critical of the wasteful fast furniture industry and champions a mix of high-quality, antique, and reused pieces. With Draumr, he hopes to contribute not just to interiors but also to supporting fulfilling jobs in the Netherlands.

    Visual communication  and press

As a photographer, I learned at the Photo Academy to speak through images and capture the essence. My marketing background fuels my interest in why people make choices, while my photography reveals what moves them.

I also found this fascination for authentic stories with the artisans at Draumr. I see how their creative ideas—fueled by expertise and passion—transform into beautiful, sustainable products with their own unique story. For me, Draumr.eu is a platform where these stories and sustainable craftsmanship converge, inspiring you to create your own unique interior story with items that are just as special as you are.
